Upwork is an online website that matches freelance content producers with those who need work performed for them. This can include graphic designs, writing, or web development. You set up a profile, list your skills, and start looking for work to perform on the website.

The team at Upwork put together an article describing how to manage your to-do lists. They say you should write everything down and quit trying to memorize your tasks. Trying to memorize tasks means you have to think about them which interferes with the task at hand far too often.

They say your to-do lists should be prepared in advance. Put these together at night so you can do them first thing off the bat in the morning. Also store all of your to-do lists in one place whether it’s a mobile app, on a computer, or written down using pen and paper.

Upwork was established in 2015 and is based in Mountain View, California. It is led by Chief Executive Officer Stephane Kasriel and now has 12 million freelancers who have registered with it. They have 5 million clients and around 3 million jobs posted on it each year.

Things are not going to go to plan each day. In fact most day it won’t. For this reason, you should assign a priority to each task you have for the day so the critical ones at least get completed. Those that are a low priority are the ones that might not get done and can be pushed off to the next day.

Research shows that in 2014 around 53 percent of freelancers did so by choice. Upwork says this has increased to 61 percent in 2018. People really like the flexibility of doing work on their own schedule. They also don’t have to deal with horrible commutes because many freelancers work in the comfort of their homes.

Their final tip about to-do lists is to assign energy levels to each task. Some take more mental or physical effort than others so put your hardest tasks during your most productive times of the day.
